Overview
Aerospace Engineer providing air/spacecraft or propulsion system design, integration, and test support for aviation platforms. Based in Huntsville, AL and reporting to the Principal Systems Engineer at Yulista Services LLC.
Responsibilities- Develop mechanical drawings, data, operational analyses, material and manpower requirements, and assess safety and airworthiness concerns.
- Generate cost estimates for aviation equipment such as flight controls, propulsion systems, avionics, communications, navigation, and guidance equipment.
- Advise on capabilities, limitations, and safety of state‑of‑the‑art equipment and integration concepts for U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, SOCOM and other government agencies.
- Collaborate with lead project engineers, chief engineer, and design teams to ensure compliance with safety of flight and intended operation.
- Support the mechanical integration of equipment and aircraft modification tasks.
- Create or modify technical data packages for aviation weapons and research platforms.
- Provide engineering support for air‑launched effects integration, test efforts, prototype integration, and facility integration.
- Review mechanical system design to ensure materials, structural substantiation, electromagnetic characteristics, airworthiness, and FAA or MIL specifications are met.
- Become familiar with various aviation systems to support development, operations, or sustainment efforts.
- Understand, utilize, and improve internal processes and tools for new system development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field from an ABET‑accredited institution.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in aircraft electronics design/integration OR three (3) years with a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- Previous experience with military or civil fixed and rotary‑wing aircraft.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance (SECRET).
- Ability to pass drug and background screening.
- Proficiency with MBSE/MOSA approaches to weapon system design/integration.
- Experience presenting to end‑user customers and clients in written and verbal formats.
- Working knowledge of Solid Works, CATIA, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly self‑motivated and capable of mentoring junior aerospace/mechanical engineers.
