Basic Qualifications

What We’re Doing
Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2
BMC) team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.
Work
- Lead the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs, acquired through documentation and solicitation, into easily reviewable technical approaches.
- Perform requirements elicitation and decomposition using behavioral artifacts such as use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams to convey understanding of the required behaviors and performance of the system under development.
- Lead the development of physical and logical system models capturing the system under development utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools.
- Lead system interface development, as captured in Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs), by converting system and interface requirements into message-level details sufficient to coordinate interface development.
- Support formal and informal engineering technical reviews.
- Create, review and critique interface documents, system requirements, verification documentation, architectural documentation, and engineering estimates.
- Interface with key stakeholders, including the MDA customer and working-level counterparts, as-required.
- Participate in Agile development planning and execution, including iteration planning and status reporting.
- This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
- The role will involve approximately 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S.

Our national team supports the design, development, testing, integration, and fielding of hardware and software elements essential for the effective operation of the Missile Defense System (MDS). - Experience producing tooling and products to assist the analysis or assessment of a system or project – preferred in Java and Python
- Experience with Dev Ops related tooling (Jenkins, HTCondor, Git Lab, etc.) is desired
- Experience with performing systems engineering for DoD Information Systems is desirable
- Experience with creating and briefing chart packages for tooling or analysis performed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to support short notice or urgent tasks without loss of efficiency.
