Principal Radar Systems Engineer
The Surface Radars and Sensors (SR&S) Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization is seeking a Principal Radar Systems Engineer to join our Modeling and Simulation (M&S) team. In this role, you will contribute to the advancement of the Open System Architecture Signal Injector (OSI) product, a cutting-edge technology at the forefront of radar innovation. This position involves developing and analyzing system and software requirements, designing sophisticated mathematical algorithms, creating system architectures, and collaborating with software and integration/test engineers.
This role is based onsite in Huntsville, AL.
What You Will Do
- Lead the development of architectures and requirements to define, characterize, and document radar OSI M&S capabilities.
- Contribute to architectural framework updates, system-of-system functional and performance requirements, detailed algorithm descriptions, test scenario definitions, and verification approaches.
- Conduct requirements analysis and benchmarking to validate algorithm designs and ensure system-level performance aligns with operational objectives.
- Collaborate closely with software and integration/test engineers to deliver innovative and high-performing radar solutions.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with Radar Systems and/or other related areas of systems engineering, including Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with radar signal processing, signal processing theory, and/or signal modeling.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or LINUX OS platforms.
