Aviation Structural Mechanic
This role focuses on structural work for rotary-wing aircraft, supporting programs on platforms such as the Boeing Apache, SH-60, CH-47, and UH-60. You will primarily perform the initial phase of aircraft reset, including breaking down the aircraft and depopulating parts and components, with a strong emphasis on structural assembly, modification, and repair.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural disassembly and depopulation of aircraft during the initial phase of reset, including removal of parts and components from platforms such as Apache, SH-60, CH-47, and UH-60.
- Carry out aircraft structural modifications and repairs in accordance with technical data, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Execute structural assembly tasks, including fitting, drilling, and fastening of aircraft components.
- Perform riveting operations and other sheet metal work on aircraft structures using appropriate techniques and procedures.
- Work with airframe and structural elements to install, remove, and re-install components as required for modification and reset activities.
- Complete a hands-on structural test on the first day to demonstrate proficiency in aircraft structural work.
- Follow all safety, quality, and procedural guidelines while working in an aircraft maintenance and modification environment.
- Collaborate with other technicians and support personnel to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed as required by program and facility standards.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 4+ years of aircraft experience focused on modification or repair.
- Hands-on experience with aircraft structural assembly and disassembly.
- Proficiency in riveting and aircraft sheet metal work.
- Experience with aircraft modification tasks, including structural changes and component installation.
- Ability to work on airframe and structural systems, including installation and removal of parts.
- Capability to successfully perform a hands-on structures test on the first day of work.
- Familiarity with rotary-wing aircraft is preferred, particularly military platforms, though not required.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, drawings, and work packages related to aircraft structures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on military rotary-wing aircraft such as Apache, SH-60, CH-47, or UH-60 is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge and understanding in aircraft structures, airframe work, and installation activities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship on critical aircraft components.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment within an aircraft maintenance and modification facility.
- Comfort working in a structured environment with performance expectations, including initial skills testing.

Work Environment
The role is based in an air-conditioned facility, providing a comfortable indoor work setting for aircraft structural tasks. The position operates on a first shift schedule, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering a consistent daytime work routine. No personal tools are required, as necessary equipment is provided by the facility. Work involves hands-on structural tasks on rotary-wing aircraft within a professional maintenance and modification environment.
Per diem is available for work on the CH-47 line, supporting eligible personnel working away from their home area.
