Safety Specialist

Our client, a leader in environmental health and safety management, is seeking a Safety Specialist to join their team. As a Safety Specialist, you will be part of the Environmental and Safety Department supporting operational safety initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety and environmental stewardship, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Safety Specialist

Pay Range: $26-27/hr

Shift: 1st Shift Monday - Friday

• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental and safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular environmental and safety audits to assess compliance and identify potential hazards
• Provide training and guidance to employees on environmental policies, safety practices, and regulatory compliance
• Manage hazardous materials and waste programs, including storage, disposal, and documentation
• Investigate workplace accidents or environmental incidents and implement corrective measures

• 0-2 years of experience in environmental health and safety management
• Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) laws and regulations
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and enforce safety standards
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for employee training and coaching
• Proficient in incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques
