In the Aerospace Transparencies Product Design Engineer role, you will be accountable for the engineering design support of new and existing Aerospace Transparencies products throughout the world. You will provide product testing and product performance evaluations to ensure that products and transparency programs will profitably meet performance expectations defined by the customer, regulatory agencies and PPG.

This is a on-site role reporting to the Huntsville, AL facility. In this role you will report to the S&T Sr. Product Development Manager.

• Technical responsibilities include providing support to Huntsville, Sylmar and Ampa Space manufacturing facilities and all related products through the effective use of engineering skills and experience in structural design and analysis, electrical design, product testing, and product documentation.
• Responsible for technical communications within PPG, as well as to customers and to governmental regulatory agencies and authorities by means of engineering test reports, presentations, white papers, etc., in support of all new and existing products.
• Interaction with customers, sales, product support engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality assurance, GTC, other PPG manufacturing facilities and possibly regulatory agencies is required.
• Provide continuous improvement for the department's environmental, health and safety, quality and value performance to insure an injury free work place, 100% compliance to customer satisfaction while meeting plant profitability objectives.
• Participate on safety, quality and value improvement teams, be responsible to attend and contribute to several ongoing activities such as manufacturing planning, budget preparation and departmental IT planning.
• Will actively participate in and the PPG New Product Introduction (NPI) process during Technical Reviews and Management Gate Reviews (including New Program Selection Meeting).
• Remain technically aware of industry trends, government regulations, customer requirements and PPG Aerospace Transparency's manufacturing process requirements in order to personally contribute suggestions and recommendations.

• Five (5) or more years' experience in the Aerospace industry required.
• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field required.
• Experience in both 3D and 2D CAD, Solid Works and AutoCAD preferred.
• Experience with Aerospace structural design and analysis, including knowledge of finite element method preferred.
• Experience providing technical support within a manufacturing facility required.
• Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously required.
• Product data management (PDM) experience is preferred.
