Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to support our Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) located in Huntsville, AL. This role supports the manufacturing facility, production processes, and facility programs associated with composite rocket motor fabrication and assembly. The Facilities Engineer will partner with Engineering team members to specify, develop, and transition manufacturing processes from development to full production. This position requires motivated, self-starting individuals with hands-on experience who can develop, implement, and maintain systems and controls within the facility.
Essential Functions
- Plan, configure, and install equipment for the fabrication of composite parts
- Support facility requirements related to quality, safety, and environmental goals
- Provide technical guidance and training to manufacturing groups
- Collaborate with internal maintenance teams and external contractors to maintain overall facility performance
- Troubleshoot facility controls, systems, and equipment, including developing robust corrective actions
- Interface with all related support groups and manufacturing teams for daily operational support
- Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required to support equipment procurement
Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Advanced understanding of facility utilities, controls, and systems
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
Experience working with outside maintenance contractors
Ability to lead multi-functional teams
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills
CAD experience
Experience troubleshooting facility systems, equipment, and controls
Experience with equipment installation
