SCA - Engineering Technician II
Job Purpose
SCA Engineering Technician II (Service Contract Act) typically performs complex, non-routine technical tasks under minimal supervision, focusing on testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and documenting electro-mechanical and avionics systems faults. Working to conduct root cause analyses on defective components and ensuring compliance with military standards (mil-std)
Key Responsibilities Of An SCA Engineering Technician II Include
- Troubleshooting and Repair:
Performing high-level, complex technical work such as circuit card assembly (CCA) repair down to the component level of resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors and integrated circuits. With the ability to discern faults in CCA using test equipment such as Multi-Meter, Oscilloscopes, Huntron and IC programming devices. - Testing and Inspection:
Executing electrical performance and environmental testing (temperature, vibration), setting up test devices, and performing mechanical inspections using calibrated tools.. - Documentation and Data Analysis:
Compiling detailed inspection reports, maintaining maintenance logs, improving technical work documents and utilizing technical data to identify defects. - Collaboration:
Working with managers, engineers, quality assurance, and technicians to resolve issues.
- Must be able to work unsupervised with consistent effort.
- Experience:
2–4 years or more of directly related technical experience. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in working in Microsoft office suite, reading schematics, diagrams, and work instructions. - Physical Ability:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with specialized equipment.
