Prepare electrical and instrumentation and controls (I&C) drawings. Proficient with CAD design tools such as SMAP 3D electrical, AutoCAD Electrical or other electrical related drawing packages essential for creating detailed electrical plans, drawings and design products.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient developing detailed schematics (e.g. wiring diagrams, functional control logic diagrams (FCLDs etc.) for electrical power and industrial control systems.
  • Prepare cable design drawings to include schematics, physical layouts, BOMs, assembly notes and views and projections.
  • Prepare designs for manufacture, installation, and test.
  • Must have a strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and design principles.
  • Experience w/ Industrial Controls Systems Design and Industrial Automation Systems preferred and a strong plus.
  • Experience designing Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems or systems utilizing PLCs a strong plus.
  • Experience working on projects supporting the nuclear industry or other industries w/ strict QA program such as NQA-1 a strong plus.
  • Familiarity to ANSI Y14.100 and related drawing standards.
  • Familiarity with International Electronics Commission (IEC) standards 61082 and 60617.
  • Working Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) standards.
  • Familiarity of control panel design, both 2D and 3D, Working knowledge of UL-508A a strong plus.
  • Must be able to manage and schedule assigned work in support of multiple projects and work in a collaborative multidiscipline engineering environment.
  • Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions during the design and implementation phases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with all team members within the Mechanical, Electrical and Process Disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design and/or equivalent electrical design experience.
  • BS in Engineering or related field also acceptable.

Required Skills

  • Proficient with CAD design tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and design principles.
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems preferred
  • Experience in Industrial Controls Systems Design preferred
