Supervisory Interdisciplinary

Duties

• Apply extensive engineering, construction, and management knowledge and experience to fully plan, coordinate and direct the work
• Serve as Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO) and develops policy related to administration of ACO/AAO requirements of the center
• Develop policies for administration from broad program objectives and requirements for areas of contract management for which no Center policy may exist
• Ensure deadlines and met and work is in compliance with requirements of higher echelon of command
• Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees
• Make selections for subordinate non-supervisory positions
• Find ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team building, or improve business practices
• Determine that the contractor's operations comply with wage and hour, equal employment opportunity, and other labor laws and regulations
• Provide engineering advice and technical assistance to Office of Counsel in preparation of evidence for use in litigation
• Conduct periodic safety meetings for both government and contractor personnel

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment
• TDY travel may be required up to 25% of the time

Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); OR (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics;

(b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

Education and Experience:

College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. • Professional registration or licensure
