Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000 + Bonus Eligible

This position requires full time onsite in Huntsville, Alabama.

Thompson Software Solutions is seeking a Principal Hw/Sw Integration Engineer Lead who is ready to work with a talented team to provide innovative solutions for tomorrow's problems. This position requires a software engineer to use a wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test software products. The successful candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills.

In this role, you will work independently at times on projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other software engineers, as well as other program development and deployment teams.

Selected applicants will be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and must maintain eligibility for continued access to classified information throughout their employment as required by the job.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead (Hw/Sw) Hardware / Software Subsystem integration activities at the Holistic (MSV) Main Subsystem Vehicle or (KV) Key Vehicle level.
• Coordinate across various SW/HW teams to ensure vehicle functions are as intended.
• Drive completion of any unresolved system level Hw/Sw interfaces and /or changes related to ERB.
• Drive completion of subsystem level interface documents/models.
• Support relevant interface documentation reviews which include internal, SDRL, and CDRL.
• Focus on test labs and hands on successful integration and V&V activities from a holistic perspective.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline or related experience.
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a strong focus on systems-level development testing and integration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-impact solutions.
• Experience with I&T integration and test.
• Experience developing and executing system-level and HIL test procedures
• Strong understanding of requirements verification and validation processes
• Experience troubleshooting integrated Hw/Sw systems in a lab environment
• Ability to professionally communicate project status and collaborate on technical solutions with clients and peers
• Active Secret Clearance Required
• Ability to work onsite 100%
• Ability to Travel up to 25%

Preferred / Additional

Skills:

• Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)
• Experience leading technical projects or mentoring junior engineers.
• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Familiarity with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (Cameo, AADL)
• Experience with Signal Processing Implementation
• Experience communicating and documenting complex technical designs
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
