Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed. At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As a part of the Operations business unit supporting Blue National Security, you will focus on the development of satellite systems aimed at solving two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit. As a member of a hardworking team of engineers and specialists, you will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, and testing of Blue Ring — a spacecraft capable of supporting a variety of missions from medium Earth orbit to the cislunar region.

The Blue Ring spacecraft provides unprecedented delta‑V capabilities, enabling customers to maneuver payloads of more than 3,000 kg to a variety of Earth orbits. Additionally, Blue Ring offers end-to-end services, including hosting, transportation, refueling, data relay, logistics, and in-space edge computing capabilities. As an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for the subassembly and integration of spacecraft avionics panels, translating engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into precise, repeatable manufacturing processes.

You will work at the intersection of electrical and mechanical disciplines, ensuring avionics panel hardware is built to the highest standards of quality, workmanship, and mission assurance. You will develop and own work instructions governing printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), cable and harness installation, panel integration, and acceptance testing — all in compliance with J-STD-001, IPC-6012, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards.

This is a hands‑on engineering role requiring deep engagement on the manufacturing floor alongside technicians, quality engineers, and design teams. If you share our vision, thrive in a dynamic startup environment, excel on integrated cross‑functional teams, continuously seek out opportunities to learn and improve, and do not allow title or job description to limit the depth or breadth of your contributions — we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Translate engineering intent, drawings, schematics, and configurations into fully functional avionics panel hardware through the development of clear and precise manufacturing work instructions. Lead and support avionics panel subassembly and integration on the manufacturing floor, including PCBA installation, connector installation, cable and harness routing and termination, panel closeout, and bonding/grounding. Enforce and apply workmanship standards per J-STD-001 (soldering), IPC-6012 (qualification and performance of rigid printed boards), and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (cable, wire, and harness assemblies) across all avionics panel build activities.

Serve as the technical liaison between avionics design engineering, electrical systems, test operations, and manufacturing to ensure seamless translation of design intent to production. Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions that clearly define receiving inspection, fabrication, PCBA installation, wire harness integration, panel integration, functional testing, and refurbishment procedures.
