Leidos seeks an Electrical Engineer Lead for our Environmental Test Lab supporting advanced IT and mission-critical systems. In this hands-on leadership role, you will plan, execute, and document environmental, EMI/EMC, and reliability tests for complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems used in national security and critical infrastructure. You will oversee lab operations, mentor engineers and technicians, develop test plans and procedures, ensure compliance with military and industry standards, and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and throughput.
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll help deliver robust, field-ready solutions with real-world impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead environmental and reliability testing of electronic and electro-mechanical systems
- Develop test plans, procedures, and configurations to meet MIL-STD and industry standards
- Oversee day-to-day Environmental Test Lab operations, equipment, and safety practices
- Analyze test data, troubleshoot failures, and recommend design or process improvements
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and test artifacts for customers and auditors
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software teams to define test requirements and resolve issues
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians in test methods and best practices
- Ensure compliance with quality, documentation, and configuration control processes
- Support proposal efforts and provide technical input on test strategy and level of effort
- Drive continuous improvement in lab capabilities, automation, and throughput
Required Skills
- Environmental testing (temperature, vibration, shock, humidity)
- MIL-STD-810 and related test standards
- EMI/EMC test methods and standards
- Test plan and procedure development
- Electronic measurement and instrumentation
- Data analysis and failure root cause analysis
