Leidos is seeking a Senior Fire Control Systems & Signal Processing Engineer to design, analyze, and integrate advanced targeting and sensor systems for mission-critical defense programs. In this role, you will develop signal processing algorithms, model and simulate system performance, and optimize fire control solutions for complex environments. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define requirements, conduct trade studies, and support system integration and test.

Responsibilities
- Design and analyze fire control and signal processing architectures for defense systems
- Develop, implement, and optimize signal processing algorithms for sensors and targeting
- Model, simulate, and evaluate system performance under realistic mission scenarios
- Define and manage system and subsystem requirements in collaboration with stakeholders
- Conduct trade studies and performance assessments to guide design decisions
- Support integration, verification, and validation of fire control systems in lab and field
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams across the program
- Generate technical documentation, test plans, and reports for internal and customer review
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to design reviews
- Ensure compliance with defense, security, and quality standards throughout the lifecycle
Required Skills
- Fire control systems design
- Signal processing (radar/EO/IR)
- MATLAB or Python modeling and simulation
- C/C++ or similar for real-time implementations
- Systems engineering and requirements management
- Sensor fusion and tracking algorithms
- Modeling and simulation tools (e.g., Simulink)
