The Thermal Analyst I is responsible for ensuring structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon portfolio of products. From preliminary concepts to fielded weapon system support, the Thermal Analyst 1 delivers innovative structural and thermal engineering solutions utilizing methods ranging from classical fundamental & empirically based techniques to state-of-the‑art finite element methods leveraging industry leading commercial tools; all complimented and validated by tests executed in a manner to ensure cost effective yet technically balanced solutions.

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis
• Perform detailed thermal analyses to solve various program thermal design challenges
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements
• Support test setup and execution, analyze test data, correlate and validate thermal models
• Work with experienced engineers on problems of moderate complexity to provide solutions within program cost and schedule constraints
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring the technical accuracy of work product
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports

You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date.
• Experience with any of the following tools:
  FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA, ANSYS or equivalent
• Experience of applying mechanical principles to solve classical thermal engineering problems both inside and outside of software tools

• Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
• Academic or professional experience in electronics cooling and aerodynamic heating analyses
• Thermal test and instrumentation experience

Relocation Eligibility

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
