Iron Mountain Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Risk Manager in the Huntsville, AL area supporting an upcoming Long Range Standoff Weapon (LRSO) effort. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring programmatic, technical, and operational risks for the effort. This role will work closely with program managers, engineers, and government stakeholders to ensure that risk management practices align with program objectives and support successful execution.

The candidate must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and be able to handle multiple tasks. A strong work ethic, the ability to work effectively with others, and a healthy desire to continuously learn and grow are essential for success in this role.

Education and General experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Program Management, or a related field, with at least five (5) years of experience in risk management, program management, or a related discipline within a government contracting environment, and a minimum of ten (10) years of overall professional experience.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or other federal government programs.
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition life cycles, programmatic risk management practices, and risk documentation requirements.
  • Experience developing and managing risk register and mitigation plans.
  • Experience with DoD and government risk management frameworks and reporting requirements.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and presenting findings to senior leadership and government stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze project critical path drivers.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of programmatic, technical, cost, schedule, and operational risks.
  • Develop and maintain the program’s Risk Management Plan (RMP) in alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a Risk and Opportunity Management Process (ROMP) in alignment with the Government’s Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), ensuring it is fully integrated into the program’s Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
  • Establish and manage the program risk register, ensuring risks are clearly documented, prioritized, and assigned to owners.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analyses to evaluate probability, impact, and overall risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans for identified risks.
  • Track mitigation plans to closure and ensure accountability across cross‑functional teams.
  • Provide risk reporting and briefings to senior leadership and program stakeholders.
  • Work with Earned Value Management (EVM) specialists to integrate risk management activities with program scheduling, cost management, and earned value management (EVM).
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities and recommend proactive strategies to reduce impact on cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government risk management frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Facilitate Contractor Risk Management Boards and participate in Government Risk Management Boards.
  • Participate in and support Program Management Reviews (PMRs), Program Status Reviews (PSRs), and other relevant program meetings.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Clearance Requirements

The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required. Per federal requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this level of clearance.
