Join to apply for the Medical Assistant role at TOC
- The Orthopaedic Center
- Perform general nursing duties in a busy orthopedic urgent care setting
- Perform wound care/dressing changes
- Drawing up injections
- Call in or escribe medications
- Application of sterile fields
- Applying splints and fitting of orthotics as needed
- Schedule diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT, US, etc.) and obtain insurance precertification
- Locate any necessary test results, and/or reports
- Prepare exam rooms, restock supplies for clinic, power up computers, etc.
- Prepare charts for clinic and print out patient information
- Fill out return-to-work forms (FMLA/STD) as needed
- Obtain signature on miscellaneous forms and fax as needed
- Friendly and professional patient communication
- Answering and returning patient phone calls
- Use EMR for all charting, orders and forms
- Escorting patients to and from exam rooms
- Respond to and chart patient messages and other necessary documentation
- MA license or certification preferred
- Orthopedic experience a plus
- Clinical experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, TOC physicians and staff
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in very busy clinical setting
- Outstanding organizational, verbal and writing skills
- Independent and highly motivated
- Exhibit initiative and self-discipline
- Proven positive, “teamwork” attitude and work history
- Experience with surgical patients preferred
- Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers skillfully
- Constant standing and walking for long periods of time
- Must be agile and able to work efficiently in space limited areas
- Consistently work at a productive pace
- Must readily adapt to frequent treatment schedule changes
