Position Summary
Responsible for coordinating pulmonary diagnostics for HH Main and Women’s and Children’s facilities. Responsible for aiding in the education of staff as well as educational functions for nursing. Assists with system updates, staff education and planning related to The Joint Commission. Assists the director and department manager in strategic planning of the department and aids in the development of new procedures.
This position has a direct involvement in maintaining Joint Commission readiness.
HS/GED Required.
Licensure / CertificationsApplicant must be registered by the N.B.R.C and licensed by the ASBRT. Certification or registry in PFT Testing is preferred. Certification of BLS is preferred for hiring processes required within the orientation period, not to exceed 90 days of hire or transfer.
ExperiencePrefer three years experience as Respiratory Therapist with proficiency in all duties of a Critical Care Therapist. Supervisory and public speaking experience is preferred.
Additional Skills / Abilities- Exhibit excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly
- Excellent clinical and teaching skills in all areas of Respiratory Care and the ability to perform and recommend procedures in all areas of Bronchial Hygiene, Oxygen Therapy, non-invasive cardiology, Respiratory Diagnostic Procedures, and Mechanical Ventilation in Critical/Non Critical care settings
- Must be able to organize, accomplish goals while meeting deadlines, and properly maintain work schedules
- Analytical ability with a working knowledge of statistics required in order to gather and interpret data in situations where the problems are somewhat complex
- Be proficient in use of computer, to include word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.
