Responsibilities
- Maintain a minimum 90% health department rating.
- Maintain a minimum average rating of 85% on camp program trainee surveys.
- Manage labor and food costs within provided guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures for the food service department.
- Ensure minimum staffing requirements for service areas in the department are met.
- Ensure adherence to the policies and procedures of the USSRC.
- Ensure accurate and timely schedules for Astrotrek and Space Camp program meals.
- Ensure that special dietary needs are distributed to trainees.
- Maintain and distribute accurate meals and group schedules on a weekly basis.
- Ensure staffing chart for next business day.
- Ensure accurate completion of daily, weekly and monthly cleaning list.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
Crew Galley (Camp Line) Operations responsibilities include:

- High school or G.E.D. plus 2 years of formal education beyond high school level.
- Must be Safe Serve certified.
- 3-6 years hands‑on experience in a high volume, full‑service food environment with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
- Must possess excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with guests and employees.
- Must have knowledge of food preparation and sanitation standards and the operation of food service equipment.
- Must be able to lead, direct, and schedule staff and resources.
- Additional certifications are a proven asset.
- Walking, climbing (stairs) to access other departments.
- Standing for long periods of time (6-7 hours) instructing, training & supervising employees.
- Sitting for short periods of time (1 hour) at a desk ensuring staff schedule are correct.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing supplies and boxes up to 50 lbs. waist high.
- Bending, kneeling, reaching to store/retrieve supplies.
- Sight, reading, wrist movements, feeling to operate food service equipment, computer terminal, develop schedules, review reports.
- Talking, hearing to instruct employees and assist guests and trainees in person and over the telephone.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
This job involves working in a climate‑controlled office with others. Occasionally, this role requires walking to visit outdoor areas, areas with children, and warehouses exposed to the elements.
Expected Hours of WorkWe're open 7 days a week, operating between the hours of 6am and 8pm.
