Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS)
Operating Unit is seeking a Principal
Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) 3 to support our growing Engineering organization. IBCS the U.S. Army’s premier command-and-control network for modern air and missile defense. It enables "any sensor, best effector" operations by integrating diverse radars and weapon systems into a single, scalable, open-architecture network to defeat advanced multi-domain threats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acts as a strategic HR business partner to our IBCS Engineering organization, consulting with leadership to drive talent strategies, organizational development, and influence business outcomes.
  • Collaborates with organizational leaders to develop HR processes that support business objectives and enhance overall HR effectiveness.
  • Leads HR discussions on employee relations, talent development initiatives, compensation management, and organizational efficiency enhancements.
  • Partners closely with HR colleagues across operations, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, and organizational effectiveness to ensure strategic alignment of HR initiatives.
  • Analyzes organizational trends and challenges to provide actionable solutions that support business goals and improve HR operations.
  • Supports leaders in making informed decisions regarding talent management and utilizes effective HR practices to drive business results.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and escalating issues as necessary to maintain workflow efficiency.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Human Resources Business Partner
  • Bachelor's degree in related field plus 5 + years of experience in HR – OR – 3 + years of experience with a Master’s degree in related field. An additional four years of human resources experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience working in an HR-based role, which may include HR business partner, employee relations, organizational effectiveness or recruiting.
  • Demonstrated success in the application of HR principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Developed ability to influence, coach, and consult with senior executive management.
  • Proven ability to support cross-functional projects to completion including organizing, planning, scheduling, and following up on project related items.
