Job Description:
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3
Harris is seeking an experienced Data Scientist with extensive expertise in data modeling, data architecture, code architecture, system design, business intelligence, and operational insights. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record with relational database management systems and data warehouse development, transforming complex data into actionable insights. The Data Architect will develop and support data lake and warehouse solutions, enabling strategic and tactical business decisions through advanced data analytics, data visualization, and data modeling techniques.
Essential Functions:
* Design, maintain, and enhance data warehouse solutions to support Power BI dashboard and report development.
* Extract, transform, load, and analyze data from Snowflake, Palantir, and other sources for effective visualization and reporting.
* Optimize data warehouse performance using best practices in data modeling, architecture, and programming.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable BI solutions while supporting self-service analytics initiatives.
* Maintain data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting, and identify process improvement opportunities to enhance business efficiency.
* Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, operations, data analytics, and program management, to ensure BI solutions align with business objectives.
* Apply ETL best practices for connecting large data sets from various sources and developing logical and physical data models; create and maintain technical documentation.
* Prepare and deliver presentations to executive, remote, and unfamiliar audiences, while staying updated with industry trends and best practices in BI, data analytics, and visualization.
* Ability to obtain US Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant data analystics experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related data analytics experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related data analytics experience.
* 2+ years experience working with relational database management systems (Oracle).
* 2+ years experience with Snowflake, Palantir, and/or Alteryx. Preferred Additional
Skills:
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Experience working across cross-functional teams to influence outcomes.
* Ability to analyze large datasets, uncover trends, and present data-driven insights.
* Experience working in an agile environment with data engineering and analytics teams.
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing best practices
* Experience in Aerospace & Defense, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain industries.
* Experience utilizing SQL for data extraction and database management.
* Experience with programming languages, such as JavaScript and Python.

D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $ -$. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $93,500.00 - $. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
