Overview

i3 has an internship opportunity available for a student seeking a degree in the Information Technology (IT) field. The best candidates for this position have a professional and courteous demeanor as well as an eagerness to learn IT technologies used in corporate enterprises. The IT Intern will receive mentorship from experts in the IT field while working i3 corporate enterprise problems.

This position is expected to last the duration of Summer 2026. Flexibility is available to accommodate the student's class schedule. This position is located at the i3 Corporate Office in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

* Provide customer service and technical support to i3 Team Members; local and remote users as required via phone, e-mail, online systems, and in person. Follow-up with users until issues are resolved.

* Determine and provide best solutions to issues based on details provided; keeping in mind industry best practices and required security standards.

* Assist in answering incoming calls, respond to customer requests for service, troubleshoot problems and help develop solutions

* Follow up with customers on ticket status, next steps, progress, and resolution

* Assist the help desk team in everyday technical responsibilities.

* Appropriately record events, problems, and their resolution.

* Experience hands on work experience in support of on-going projects.

* Deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment by managing time and effort across multiple projects.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

* Must currently be enrolled at an accredited college/university in an undergraduate or graduate level degree program (Computer Science, IT, or related field of study required) at the time of the internship (Summer 2026) or semester immediately following (Fall 2026).

* Basic computer knowledge/experience.

* Basic troubleshooting skills.

* Installation of workstations and applications.

* Knowledge of Windows Operating System.

* U.S. Citizenship required.

* Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

* Exceptional judgment capabilities and relationship management skills.

* Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service skills; ability to clearly communicate in discussions and written documents, and to deliver feedback clearly and tactfully.

* Interact with a diverse array of customers and staff in a professional and courteous manner.

* Work with supervision and have accountability for accurate and complete results.

* Be extremely organized and exceptionally detail oriented.

Physical Demands:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

* The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

* Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
