The successful candidate will be part of the K  team supporting the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) Big Data (BD) and Knowledge Management (KM) Team working on BD and KM systems supporting DoD Test Ranges and various acquisition programs.

• Data‑Driven Analysis:
  Support our customers with insights gained from analyzing DoD Test & Evaluation data. Enable the development of data‑driven decision analysis products through innovative application of novel methods from data science, machine learning, and operations research.
• Data Mining:
  Strong experience using a variety of data mining and data analysis methods, accessing data stored in diverse storage paradigms, developing models with statistical and machine learning approaches, creating custom algorithms, implementing workflows in Python or R, and writing reports and documentation.

  Provide analytic consulting services, support analytic workflow and product development and testing, promote user adoption of methods and best practices from data science, conduct applied methods projects, and support the creation of analysis‑ready data.
• Customer‑Facing

  Be the face of the CHEETAS Team and ensure stakeholders have the analytical tools, data products, and reports they need to make insightful recommendations based on your data‑driven analysis.
• Stakeholder Assistance:
  Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to identify analytic requirements and questions that can be informed through aggregation and analysis of large data sets collected during test events or exercises.
• Communication:
  Drive decisions through effective written and presented communication of data‑based insights, at both a programmatic and technical level.
• Technical Support:
  Provide extensive technical expertise in operations research methods and experience working on Department of Defense problems. Run and operate CHEETAS (and other tools); demonstrate tools to stakeholders & VIPs; adapt internally‑developed tools, notebooks, and reports to meet emerging needs; gather use cases, requirements, gaps, and needs from stakeholders and report them to the CHEETAS development team; perform impromptu hands‑on training sessions;
  
  troubleshoot problems from within closed networks.
• Independent Work:
  Demonstrate self‑motivation and the ability to work independently with little supervision; test the effectiveness of different courses of action using a variety of methods and models.

• Location:
  
  Remote
• Travel Requirements: 25% travel, potentially up to 50% to support end users located at various DoD ranges & labs across the US.
• Working Hours:
  
  Standard; you may be the only team member physically on‑site providing support, but you will not be alone.

• Security Clearance:
  Active TS/SCI clearance
• Education:
  
  Advanced degree in operations research, engineering, applied math, statistics, computer science or information technology with a preferred 12+ years of experience within DoD.
