Software Reverse Engineer
The Opportunity:
As a Software Reverse Engineer, you know that embedded and application developers, reverse engineers, and vulnerability analysts all play key roles in the development of new capabilities to exploit and understand emerging electronic threats. We're looking for someone like you to flex your problem‑solving prowess in a rapidly evolving systems security research and development environment in support of law enforcement investigations.
As a Software Reverse Engineer on our team, you'll support full project life cycles and manage reverse engineering and vulnerability analysis on a range of software problems on devices that threaten the safety of both the warfighter and law enforcement personnel.
At Booz Allen, you'll use your engineering skills to support a broad range of partners in law enforcement. Our team performs a wide range of technical examinations required to successfully exploit both commercial and custom electronic devices, including performing electronic data recovery and digital forensic examinations to identify and understand information of interest related to real‑world investigations.

You Have:- Experience with static reverse engineering of software binaries, including Ghidra or IDA Pro
- Experience with Python, C, or C++ programming languages
- Experience imaging, extracting, and parsing data from electronic devices
- Knowledge of computer architecture, including x86, ARM, MIPS, Power PC, or x86-64
- Ability to prepare written documents, including reports, test plans, design specifications, requirements documents, and training materials
- Ability to brief and present findings to clients, customers, and external partners, interact with client engineers, and respond to technical questions and requests from customers
- Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with modern software exploitation techniques, secure boot process, and boot loader design implementation for iOS or Android platforms
- Experience testing electronic or electrical devices with standard lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, RF signal generators, waveform generators, audio analyzers, DSP analyzers, and multimeters
- Experience performing analysis, generating schematics, and troubleshooting electronic or electrical devices to the component level in various conditions
- Experience with Chain of Custody and evidence handling procedures in a forensic laboratory
- Knowledge of electronic circuit design and PCB layout
- Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements.
