Network Support Engineer
Infosys is seeking a skilled, dedicated, and proactive Network Support Engineer to support Networking Services along with strong interpersonal and technical skills; assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration, maintenance, security, best practices, create SOP's and other documentation, anticipate problems, and suggest solutions.
Required Qualifications- Location:
Vance, AL (commuting distance) or willingness to relocate; travel may be required. - Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of each year of education.
- Basic level network routing/switching, wireless network, firewall, network troubleshooting skills including packet captures and analysis, monitoring and ITSM tools, and IMACD services.
- Experience with operation support on network device setup, DNS, DHCP and IPAM, NTP, AAA (RADIUS), firewall, fiber patching, device rack & stack, de‑commissioning, and support for shipping of de‑commissioned devices.
- Checking of physical connectivity.
- Console access to the device.
- Racking & stacking of devices / replacement of devices.
- Hardware replacement (considering replacement done by vendor).
- Handling of switches, routers, firewall, wireless controller, access point, HVAC unit monitoring, fire extinguishing system, and related facility management systems for the datacenter.
- Handling of any standalone devices in the data centre.
- Providing support for the Asset Manager by performing physical asset verifications periodically.
- Working knowledge of all data centre infrastructure (servers, switches, routers, virtual machines) and campus network.
- Supporting highly critical production environments and ensuring uninterrupted campus network and data centre services.
- Managing utilisation of data centre facilities, including space, power, and cooling infrastructure to ensure normal operations of all managed compute devices.
- Ethernet/fiber cable swapping or checking cable connectivity.
- Hardware troubleshooting, upgrades, or replacements.
- Inserting CD/DVD ROM on physical server/devices.
- Checking and reviewing power status at site/device.
- Reviewing LEDs to identify alarms.
- Hard reboot of switches, routers, servers, and other devices as needed.
- Identifying and recommending changes/improvements to process and infrastructure design.
- Providing emergency intervention in ITIL lifecycle processes (incident and problem management) to provide 2nd/3rd‑level support in response to major incidents.
- Participating in discussions with business teams/SMEs to understand requirements and working with architect teams to implement optimal solutions.
- Coordinating with suppliers requiring onsite troubleshooting/installation.
- Engaging in problem‑management processes for root‑cause determination and permanent corrective action.
- Following plant health and safety guidelines and process.
- Driving service improvement and customer satisfaction.
