We are looking for an IT Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure across multiple sites, ensuring reliability, scalability, performance, and cybersecurity. This role directs resources to meet mission requirements, collaborates closely with the ISSM to ensure policy compliance, and proactively plans for emerging needs while maintaining compliant and secure IT networks, hardware, and software.

Responsibilities
  • Provide management and direct support for help desk operations across corporate, engineering, and manufacturing sites.
  • Manage and mentor a team of help desk technicians responsible for troubleshooting and resolving IT issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate help desk activities while balancing high‑priority issues, long‑lead tasks, and support volume.
  • Implement and manage secure remote access, monitoring, and support tools to effectively support geographically dispersed facilities and ensure continuous end‑user IT support.
  • Perform day‑to‑day maintenance, patching, software installs, and updates.
  • Ensure all IT infrastructure remains STIG compliant.
  • Install new or rebuild servers, both physical and virtual, and configure hardware, services, settings, and storage.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure remote access architectures, including VPNs and encrypted tunnels, VDI, SSH, RDP, and Zero Trust/identity‑based access.
  • Work with hybrid‑cloud solutions and maintain DoD approved cloud service providers to provide IT services and capabilities.
  • Resolve hardware and software problems, schedule upgrades, and collaborate with engineers and end users on network/system optimization.
  • Understand software configuration management.
  • Implement and manage standardized desktop images and PXE‑based deployment processes to support consistent, repeatable, and secure workstation provisioning.
  • Support CMMC Level 2 compliance by implementing NIST SP 800‑171 controls across IT systems and software environments in coordination with the Sim Tech ISSM.
  • Support ATO activities by implementing required technical controls and providing operational guidance in coordination with the ISSM.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD‑approved baseline certification preferred.
  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CASP+, Microsoft Certified Associate, or CompTIA Linux+ are a plus.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and task management skills, with experience managing workloads, schedules, and competing priorities.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated relevant IT experience, including systems administration, endpoint management, and user support.
  • Experience supporting Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret Security clearance and the ability to maintain the designated security clearance level is required.
Physical Description

Employees in this position will function in a general office or cubicle setting and laboratory/testing environment using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software, and testing equipment. The role may include telework. Employees may move and test equipment of various weights and may need protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
