Summary/Objective
Five Stones Research Corporation (5
SRC) is seeking energetic candidates to join our established and growing Huntsville-headquartered team.
Essential Functions
- Works on Network Ops team to design, support, configure, and maintain the customer's many mission and test networks.
- Designs, tests, upgrades, modifies, and documents the Operating System. Also provides input on the proper baseline configuration template.
- Updates and maintains Solarwinds network maps to properly document the network.
- Provides customers advice and quotes for all network infrastructure equipment using Chess and the DoDIN Approved Products List (APL).
- Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs any fiber connectivity issues.
- Maintains the Motorola point-to-point network and deploys as needed to bypass fiber cuts when possible and to assist the test ranges.
- Creates site surveys with Cable Distribution team to ensure all network infrastructure is in place to support connection from distribution switches to end points.
- Prepares and installs all new switches.
Required Education and Experience
- Must meet one of the following at a minimum: a) bachelor’s degree in IT related field, or b) four (4) years related work experience at a minimum.
- Experience troubleshooting IT problems within enterprise network environments or installing and/or maintaining enterprise network infrastructure components such as pre-configured switches, patch panels, fiber optic and/or copper cable.
- Must meet baseline certification requirements in accordance with DoD 8570 IAT-II category or higher.
