Our client, a leading provider of advanced test and measurement solutions in the defense and technology sector, is seeking a Systems Support Engineer to join their team. As a Systems Support Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Support team supporting customer operations, engineering, and product development teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem‑solving skills, excellent customer‑facing communication abilities, and technical expertise across hardware and software systems, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Systems Support Engineer

Location: Huntsville, AL (Primarily On‑Site)

Pay Range: Competitive; based on experience

What’s the Job?

Provide post‑delivery technical support for complex custom test systems, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and customer assistance.
Support site acceptance testing, commissioning, startup activities, training programs, and system installations at customer locations.
Serve as the voice of the customer by communicating technical feedback, issues, and improvement opportunities to engineering and business teams.
Coordinate cross‑functional resolution efforts, document technical issues, maintain system documentation, and provide design‑for‑serviceability feedback.
Deliver post‑deployment consulting, repair services, coaching, and training to maximize system uptime and operational effectiveness.

What’s Needed?

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of relevant industry experience, including customer‑facing technical support or engineering roles.
Experience with National Instruments (NI) platforms including LabVIEW, Test Stand, PXI systems, automated test equipment (ATE), and test & measurement environments.
Strong knowledge of electronics, computer architectures, hardware/software integration, instrumentation, and programming languages such as LabVIEW, C/C++, or C#.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance and willingness to work primarily on‑site in Huntsville, AL, with occasional travel to Austin, TX.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Testeract and/or System Link.
Background in the defense industry.
Cross‑platform development experience (Windows/Linux).
NI LabVIEW Certification.
Experience with statistical analysis tools and methodologies (Cp, Cpk, GR&R).

Training Period (First 2–3 Months)

70% on‑site in Austin, TX for onboarding, STE design, and build activities.
30% remote for training, meetings, and customer introductions.

On‑Site Support Period (12–18 Months)

80% on‑site in Huntsville, AL at the customer facility.
20% remote and/or travel to Austin, TX for additional onboarding and support activities.
