Data Engineer – Huntsville, AL

Build data pipelines and integrate sources for dashboards, analytics, and compliance reporting. Ensure data security through testing, implementation, design, and monitoring.

• Manage and coordinate with internal or external parties the collection, compilation, normalization, and standard analysis of data assets across diverse projects and data platforms.
• Develop, maintain, evaluate, and test valuable data solutions within the organization.
• Develop and execute plans, policies, and practices that control, protect, deliver, and enhance the value and integrity of the organization's data and information assets.
• Collect, store, process, and analyze raw and/or complex data from multiple sources, recommend ways to apply the data, choose and design optimal data solutions, and build data processing systems using data warehousing solutions and the latest database technologies.
• Investigate data quality problems, conduct analysis to determine root causes of problems, correct errors, and develop prototypes, process improvement plans across all programs, and proof of concepts for selected solutions.
• Process unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis, followed by doing the analysis.
• Integrate innovations and algorithms into the organization's data systems, working closely with the engineering team.
• Implement complex data projects with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large sets of data, turning information into insights using multiple platforms.
• Establish security protocols to protect all data collected and used by the organization.
• Ensure the compliance of policy, processes, and procedures throughout the day-to-day management of the organization.
• Assist in managing data needs and support the collection of data needed for various operational needs.
• Perform data analysis, problem solving, investigation, and creative thinking with a massive amount of data supporting a variety of operational scenarios, and responsible for source code control.
• Create and maintain data ingestion and transformations within Vantage and Gabriel Nimbus.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, IT, or business-related programs.
• 4+ years of experience in building data pipelines, data transformation, and integrating sources for dashboards, AI/ML, analytics, and compliance reporting.
• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS with SCI eligibility.

• 3+ years of experience supporting DoD or federal programs.
• Data analytics or engineering certifications.
• 3+ years of experience with Vantage or Gabriel Nimbus.
• Experience utilizing logs, scans, and sensor data.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM.
• Baseline and Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAT-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M (Security+ certification).

• Experience in Python and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc., and migrating customers/projects to the cloud.
• Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment.

• Experience with utilizing APIs for data sources.
• Experience transforming JSON.
• Experience working in cloud infrastructures.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle) and hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools.
• Experience with relational databases and BI tools like Power BI or Business Objects.
• Experience extracting, transforming, and structuring data to support exploratory analytics and operational reporting.
• Use data visualization tools to deliver actionable information.
• Knowledge and experience with data analysis and technical expertise in data management, engineering, and science.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to set and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to meet minimum clearance requirements.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
