Description
The Systems Engineer – Performance Analyst will join the System Simulation and Performance team on the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program. The role focuses on developing and analyzing high-fidelity modeling and simulation (M&S) software to evaluate missile defense system performance, using HPC clusters and advanced analytical tools.
Responsibilities- Support the development of medium and high-fidelity modeling and simulation software.
- Run digital system simulation tools on a high‑performance computing (HPC) cluster.
- Integrate weapon system elements into performance analysis products.
- Modify code in MATLAB, Python, and Linux shell scripting.
- Develop, update, and run scripts to process data outputs and performance results.
- Analyze, evaluate, and communicate system performance results and behavior to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the organization and customer community to ensure consensus on system performance, trades, and design maturity.
- Experience with C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Knowledge of Git or Gitlab.
- Experience with performance analysis.
- Eligibility to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance – U.S. citizenship required.
- Active or current DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or Data Analytics.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and shell scripting (Bash or tsch).
- Experience executing analysis on HPC clusters (e.g., Slurm, Open Shift).
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline development (Gitlab runner, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with dashboard development (Dash, Plotly, Bokeh, Matplotlib).
- Experience developing or integrating custom Python tools for data extraction, transformation, visualization, and storage.
- Experience with CMake.
- Experience working in the development phase of a missile program.
- Experience with modeling and simulation.
- Experience with weapon system performance analysis.
- Experience with statistical modeling.
- Experience with algorithm development and testing (e.g., scheduling, graph, linear programming, dynamic programming).
- Experience with distributed simulations and API development.
The position requires a government security clearance. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. The clearance level for this role is Secret.
