Senior Enterprise Engineer, Storage Capacity Management

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise storage platforms (e.g., Dell EMC, Net App, Pure Storage, HPE)
• Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of storage infrastructure
• Participate in lifecycle management (procurement, upgrades, decommissioning)
• Optimize utilization across compute, storage, and network layers in integrated systems
• Identify inefficiencies across clusters, nodes, and storage tiers
• Support cost optimization efforts by right‑sizing resources
• Design and implement performance testing strategies
• Proactively identify capacity constraints and systemic bottlenecks
• Lead root cause analysis for performance degradation scenarios
• Analyze historical growth trends and predict future storage requirements
• Provide proactive recommendations to prevent capacity constraints
• Define thresholds, alerts, and reporting for storage utilization
• Implement and maintain monitoring tools for storage performance and capacity
• Produce dashboards and executive reports on utilization, trends, and risks
• Identify inefficiencies such as over‑provisioning or under utilization
• Work with infrastructure, application, and architecture teams
• Provide input into enterprise architecture and storage strategies
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards

• Experience in enterprise storage engineering
• Strong experience with capacity planning and performance analysis
• Hands‑on experience with major storage platforms (e.g., Net App, EMC, Pure, HPE)
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Pure1 Manage, vROps, Turbonomic, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
• Knowledge of SAN/NAS protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB)
• Knowledge of VMware, Hyper‑V, Kubernetes, or container storage
• Experience with backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions
• ITIL framework familiarity
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Pure, Net App, Dell EMC, Azure, AWS)
