Position Responsibility
Summary:
- Primary Function - Windows/VMware Administration (PWS 1.16.3, 1.16.3.1): Maintains VMware ESXi environments and Windows-based VM/appliance administration, ensuring maximum uptime and optimized resource allocation across classified and unclassified partitions.
- Cross-Functional Service Desk Escalation (PWS 1.16.6.1, 1.16.6.2): Cross-trained in Service Desk User Support and Technical Guidance to serve as a Tier 3 escalation point. When Service Desk Technicians encounter complex Windows server errors, VM performance degradation, or application-to-server connectivity failures exceeding Tier 2 capabilities, directly engages from the ticket queue to diagnose root cause at the infrastructure level and implement resolutions, reducing mean time to resolution rates.
Position Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Experience: VMware ESXi administration;
Windows Server OS management, patching, and STIG implementation in DoD environments; AD/GPO management. - Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications: IAT Level II certification required per DoDM 8140.03.
- Years of
Experience:
5 to 10 years of systems administration experience. - Security Clearance: Active SECRET clearance.

Work Arrangement: On-site (embedded within the OCIO); situational telework may be authorized on a case-by-case basis with COR/KO approval
Travel Requirements: CONUS travel may be required; all travel requires prior written COR approval per JTR/FAR 31.205-46
