Technical Support Position

The AAMU-RISE enterprise supports multiple contract customers for Alabama A&M University. RISE performs on a variety of projects and tasks across the government and industrial arena. Multiple and full-time positions are available for technical support on these initiatives. Pay varies depending on the candidate grade/tier, and by the applicable task order.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to perform per the customer specification either onsite at AAMU, or at the customer facilities, as determined by the task.

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve technical issues per customer requirements.
• Provide technical assistance and support as required.
• Evaluates existing systems, and perform system designs or upgrades; based on customer needs, and resolves potential conflicts and errors.
• Reviews, prioritizes, and process activities; document the progress of projects.
• Performs a variety of complex tasks.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Typically reports to a project leader or manager.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):

• Bachelor's Degree for professional positions, or other education requirements to satisfy specific customer requirements.
• 0-5 Years of Experience, or as appropriate for the position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to perform advanced, technical tasks per customer requirements.
• Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, and communications.
• Ability to simultaneously coordinate and complete multiple projects.
• Advanced troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to diagnose the nature and extent of a wide range of engineering and technical issues.
• Maintains records of completed tasks and be able to track and present project status.
• Ability to provide regular reporting and presentations as required.
