Job OverviewThis role is responsible for leading all phases of assigned enterprise IT projects, serving as the single point of contact from concept through final implementation. This role defines project scope, develops detailed work plans and schedules, and ensures alignment with quality standards, budgets, and approved timelines. The individual coordinates across end users, technical teams, client services, and construction partners to integrate enterprise network and IT requirements into major renovations, upgrades, and new developments.
They conduct project meetings, track progress, manage vendor deliverables, and perform thorough risk analysis and mitigation. The Project Manager must interpret and work with technical documents such as network diagrams, blueprints, construction narratives, contracts, and project charters to ensure accurate execution. Additionally, the role provides analytical and technical guidance to project teams, facilitates cross‑team collaboration, and delivers clear executive‑level presentations and status updates.
Functions
- Lead the end‑to‑end planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects to meet defined scope, schedule, and budget. Design, plan, and evaluate network and communications systems.
- Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams including engineering, infrastructure, and external vendors.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, track action items, and provide clear status updates to leadership.
- Identify, assess, and resolve project risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact delivery.
- Ensure adherence to organizational IT standards, governance processes, and quality expectations.
- Manage change control processes and evaluate impacts of scope, timeline, or cost adjustments.
- Support project closeout by ensuring proper documentation, fit-out activities, and quality assurance.
- Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
- Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret project documents to include charters, budgets, timelines, technical drawings, telecom construction documents, and supporting program documents.
- Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects with varying scopes, timelines, and levels of complexity while maintaining quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Demonstrated skill in cross-team coordination, stakeholder communication, and updating and briefing executive management and upper leadership on project status.
- Ability to identify and manage project risks and drive effective solutions while adhering to scope, budget, and schedule.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to schedule meetings and brief technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Top Secret Clearance with a CI Polygraph.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Five (5) years of experience leading enterprise scale IT initiatives in a government environment.
