We are pleased to announce openings for a Dev Ops Engineer who will join our Technical Solutions Division and JSTC2 Team in Huntsville, Alabama to build software that provides war fighting training exercise participants unparalleled access to information about the unfolding scenario. You’ll be part of a team that is not only modernizing the interface to the underlying war fighting simulations but also finding new and innovative ways of surfacing deep information about the scenario, providing end users with the right information right when they need it.
You’ll work at the intersection of infrastructure, software engineering, and AI to enable the development team to deliver impactful, secure, and maintainable solutions.
Responsibilities:
As a Dev Ops Engineer, you will build, improve, and maintain development, automation and delivery pipelines that enable our software team to develop, test, secure, and deploy capabilities reliably.
You’ll collaborate across a large development, testing, and integration teams, supporting their ability to develop, test, and deploy capabilities quickly and securely.
You will:
- Build, maintain, and improve development and test environments.
- Create and support containerized development and deployment workflows.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git Lab CI) with automated testing, linting, and deployment.
- Implement and enforce Git Lab merge request policies and code quality standards.
- Create shell scripts and config files to streamline setup, reproducibility, and remote development.
- Collaborate with software engineers, testers and cybersecurity teams to transition capabilities (including AI) into production-ready systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- 4 years of experience in Dev Ops
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Candidates must meet all basic qualifications to be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Linux-based development, shell scripting (Bash), and remote development.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and reproducibility using Podman (or similar) and secure artifact repositories (e.g., Artifactory).
- Proven ability to build and manage CI/CD pipelines in Git Lab (or equivalent), including automated testing, MR enforcement, and runner configuration.
- Experience deploying AI enabled software solutions in secure, classified, or DoD-restricted environments.
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and Dev Sec Ops best practices.
- Understanding of software supply chain security, including artifact validation and SBOMs.
- Strong communication skills with a track record of writing clear technical documentation and supporting onboarding across technical teams.
