Overview:
We are seeking a SME-Level Cloud Developer to support a mission-critical federal program focused on secure cloud infrastructure, application modernization, and national security initiatives. This is a high-impact, hands-on role centered on building, automating, and maintaining AWS-based environments in secure, large-scale systems. Your work will directly support operational readiness, secure system delivery, and enterprise cloud transformation. You will serve as a technical leader, driving infrastructure as code, automation, containerization, and cloud platform reliability within a highly collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure across enterprise environments
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible, and Packer
- Support patching, system hardening, and infrastructure lifecycle management
- Configure and manage AWS services including ALBs, encryption mechanisms, and identity/access controls
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git Lab for automated deployment and delivery
- Develop and support containerized applications using Docker and/or Podman
- Support Kubernetes orchestration for containerized workloads
- Deploy and maintain monitoring and logging solutions including Grafana and Kafka
- Configure and manage Splunk indexing and log ingestion pipelines
- Develop automation solutions using Ansible Automation Platform
- Implement serverless and event-driven architectures using AWS Lambda and SNS
- Monitor system performance and availability using Cloud Watch and related tools
- Support secure data handling, auditing, and compliance requirements within cleared environments
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Strong experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud services
- Hands-on experience with:
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible, Packer) CI/CD tools (Git Lab) Containerization (Docker, Podman) Kubernetes orchestration - Experience with AWS services including: S3, IAM, Route 53, Event Bridge Systems Manager, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail Security Hub, Inspector, Trusted Advisor ECS, EKS Data Lifecycle Manager, Recycle Bin
- Experience with ALBs, encryption, and cloud security best practices
- Experience deploying and maintaining Grafana and Kafka
- Experience configuring Splunk indexing and logging environments
- Experience with Lambda, SNS, and event-driven architectures
- Strong automation and scripting experience
- Experience working in secure or regulated environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior system administration experience (Linux or Windows)
- Experience supporting large-scale or distributed cloud environments
- Experience supporting federal or DoD programs
Work Environment:
- Fully onsite at Redstone Arsenal (Huntsville, AL) Monday–Friday within standard core business hours
- Secure facility requiring strict adherence to security protocols
- Fast-paced, mission-focused cloud and platform engineering environment
- Direct collaboration with Dev Ops, software, and infrastructure teams
