Roles and ResponsibilitiesDTS Simulation/Stimulation (Sim/Stim) Systems Integration Engineer supporting the C2
BMC Distributed Training System Simulation & Stimulation (DTS Sim/Stim) development, integration, fielding, and sustainment activities at Redstone Arsenal, AL.
- Primary responsibility is the integration & interoperability of the Distributed Missile Defense System (MDS) framework, weapons and sensor models, and Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) provided by the various element program offices into the DTS Sim/Stim product.
The DTS Sim/Stim is a system of systems consisting of distributed training and exercise frameworks as well as weapons systems and sensor modeling applications. The DTS Sim/Stim is the primary driver that provides the stimulus needed to enable Warfighters to train on their operational Missile Defense systems at their war fighting location.
The Systems Integrator is responsible for coordinating the development and interoperability of the C2
BMC Distributed Training System. Responsible for maintaining, installing and planning the current and future iterations of the DTS Sim/Stim equipment.
Responsibilities require involvement in the planning and coordination of software updates among Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and other organizations to facilitate seamless integration of evolving components within the product suite. Tasks include loading, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting the various Modeling & Simulation components within the DTS Sim/Stim environment. Integration efforts will include the analysis and troubleshooting of various tactical messaging protocols such as TADIL-J/Link
16, VMF, B-Series, BXS/XML, and ADIP formats. Knowledge of networks, protocols, and RHEL commands will be required in the troubleshooting of various interfaces within and external to the DTS Sim/Stim Product Suite.
The DTS Sim Stim uses a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system. Administration experience with Linux based Operating Systems, System Security, and maintenance of Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTs) products such as Java and MySQL is highly preferred. Experience operating within a Linux based environment is required.
Additional tasks include aiding team members in troubleshooting, configuration management, architecture and integration of Blue Force Lay-downs (BFL) in accordance with directives. The C2
BMC DTS is hosted at the Missile Defense Integration & Operations Center (MDIOC) in Colorado Springs and is a fast paced, multi-contractor environment that has daily interaction with customers. DTS operates 19 hrs a day x 5 days per week. Typically, an employee does not exceed 40 hours per week unless authorized for special events. There may be occasional weekends and off hours work required based on the needs of the Warfighter.
The selected candidate must be able to travel worldwide in support of DTS planning, fielding, and system support. Proficient in System Administration, configuration management and operations. Experience in operating a Linux based systems is a must. Aptitude for rapidly learning various operating systems and commands. Must be able to adapt to short term deadlines and work well under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and written communication/presentation skills.

Minimum Requirements
- Technical Proficiency:
Strong background in system administration, configuration management, and operations. - Security Clearance:
Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Linux+:
Current certification or the ability to obtain it within Days of hire. - Security+:
Current certification or the ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire. - OS Certification:
Must possess or obtain a Linux+ or a comparable Operating System certification.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a small team (up to five engineers) while remaining self-motivated.
- Proactive initiative to complete tasks from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to relay findings clearly and in a timely manner.
- Comfortable providing briefings, system demonstrations, and generating technical artifacts/architectural documentation.
- Experience:
Containerization, virtualization, Kubernetes orchestration, Helm chart development and deployment, RESTful API integration, knowledge of MDS. - Modern Infrastructure:

- Familiarity with MDS and experience working in an operations center.
- Experience with real-time simulations such as EADSIM, C2
BMC, GFC, MDST, or JSAF.
