Employment Application for IT Operations Specialist
As an IT Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation as it related to technology assets and configuration(s).
- Create project plans, design and implement solutions.
- Evaluate, create, request and present technical specifications and requirements for purchasing technology products via quote procedure.
- Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting and on-call availability as needed.
- IT system administration duties including: hardware installations, System/Application installations, patch management, incident resolution, log analysis, etc.
- Configure, test, and maintain networking equipment and services, including switches, routers, firewalls and VPN.
- Identify. Diagnose and resolve network problems including: network connectivity, traffic utilization, etc. using available network tools in a timely fashion.
- Provide Infrastructure services such as storage networking, Operating System, network security, directory services, server virtualization, system backup and restore, system and network monitoring, application installation and configuration.
- Provide technical support to front-line support technicians.
- Assist with monthly reports and recommendations for clients.
- Interface with third party vendors as liaison between client and vendor.
- Stay current with technology offerings, information, changes and updates.
Basic Qualifications:
- Eight years of prior IT experience. Prior experience working for a service provider is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate by phone or in person.
- Demonstrated written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling difficult situations.
- Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Proven background of providing great customer service.
- Shows initiative and acts independently to resolve problems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritizes existing projects, and proactively determine areas requiring additional attention, monitoring, or maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on projects to completion.
- Works effectively both as a team member and independently.
- Effectively utilizes tools to resolve issues and escalates appropriately.
- Network configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting experience are a must.
- Hands on experience with all forms of common networking, workstation and server virtualization solutions, cybersecurity, backup systems and line of business applications.

Qualifications:
- Appropriate vendor certifications are a preferred (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, HP, EC-Council, etc.)
- BS in Management of Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science Degree a plus.
