Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer (Senior)

IPTA’s Technology Solutions Team provides technical solutions to satisfy customer business needs. As a member of the Technology Solutions group, the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer will install, configure, manage, and maintain virtualized systems to ensure data integrity, availability and security. The selected candidate will work with leadership and the architect team to design a virtualization strategy to meet mission requirements and provide technical expertise supporting information systems components, infrastructure integration and maintenance to meet architectural and business requirements.
Responsibilities- Conduct administration tasks as required including patching, updates, hardening, remediation, and management of virtualization environment.
- Build and maintain VDI deployments.
- Provide end-to-end configuration and support of the VDI platform.
- Work closely with application owners and support staff to deliver high availability of business-critical applications.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Horizon VDI solutions.
- Build and administer VMware vSphere in a large-scale environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Mentor and guide junior systems administrators.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Ten (10) years of prior experience in a similar role.
- DoD 8570 Level II/III certification desired.
- Active Security Clearance required.
