Senior Microelectronics Engineer to support critical microelectronic security and hardware assurance programs for Department of Defense customers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply expert-level knowledge in microelectronic trust, supply chain risk management, and counterfeit part detection to protect national security interests. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor, working closely with government customers and inter‑agency partners to advance microelectronic security capabilities and develop innovative solutions to emerging threats.
The Advanced Sensors and Protective Technologies portfolio develops and evaluates EO/IR sensor systems and protective capabilities that enhance threat detection, survivability, and mission effectiveness. This includes safeguarding mission‑critical systems through advanced microelectronic hardware assurance to ensure components remain trusted and secure. We advance sensor system technologies and hardware assurance through real‑world testing, modeling and simulation, and performance analysis to support the transition of emerging capabilities into operational systems.

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical guidance and support for microelectronic security programs and initiatives for Department of Defense customers
- Conduct counterfeit part risk assessments and coordinate testing activities in accordance with industry standards (AS6171)
- Support supply chain risk management (SCRM) efforts related to microelectronics and hardware security
- Perform reverse engineering analysis of hardware components and document findings using established and advanced methodologies
- Collaborate with inter‑agency partners (NSA, Navy, Air Force, DHS) on microelectronic trust and security initiatives
- Develop technical reports, briefings, and documentation for program managers and government customers
- Support proposal development efforts through technical advisement and subject matter expertise
- Serve as technical liaison between Leidos personnel and government customers to ensure clear communication and project requirements understanding
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures for microelectronic testing and analysis
- Maintain awareness of current microelectronic security threats, detection methodologies, and industry best practices
- Apply expert knowledge to develop new standards, processes, and solutions for emerging microelectronic security challenges
- Support laboratory operations and testing activities as required
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field with 12+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in microelectronic security, hardware assurance, or supply chain risk management
- Demonstrated expert knowledge in counterfeit part detection, testing, or risk assessment methodologies
