Cybersecurity Engineer III

Rothe Development, Inc. is seeking a senior-level Cybersecurity Engineer III to serve as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the NASA eMITS contract. This onsite role in Huntsville, AL emphasizes IT security implementation, Assessment and Authorization (A&A) guidance, compliance support, and ongoing monitoring of security controls for eMITS information systems.

In this position, you will develop and apply a detailed understanding of the information systems under the eMITS contract. You will support the organization in meeting IT reporting and IT security implementation requirements, provide structured guidance through the A&A process, and contribute to documentation that supports governance, risk management, and continuous compliance.

• Build and maintain a detailed understanding of the function and operation of the information systems maintained under the eMITS contract.
• Use expertise in IT and IT management requirements to ensure organizational responsiveness to IT reporting and IT security implementation requirements.
• Provide guidance to the organization throughout the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.
• Maintain awareness of organizational activities and generate or provide input to required documentation, including IT security plans, testing procedures and results, standard operating procedures, emergency procedures, contingency plans, disaster recovery plans, memoranda of understanding with interfacing systems, user rules and procedures, user or program manuals, risk assessment, backup procedures, A&A processing documents and statements, and verification reviews and site inspections.
• Assist with monitoring security controls for IT systems to support a continuous state of compliance with applicable IT security regulations and requirements.
• Provide periodic reporting on regulatory compliance status, plan development and approval progress, and significant issues related to IT management and information security.

• Experience developing IT Security Plans, performing auditing and assessments, and supporting compliance with NIST standards in a DoD/NASA environment
