Sign Language Interpreter; ASL Huntsville, Alabama

Make a meaningful impact each day as a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter supporting a student in a vibrant elementary school setting. In this full-time, school-based role, youll work in a 1:1 capacity, using your interpreting expertise to help foster access to education, communication, and inclusion.

Enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, working standard school hours. This assignment runs through May 28, 2027, offering the opportunity to build continuity and rapport with your student and colleagues alike.

• Current Alabama SLI/Interpreter license or permit (required)
• Interpreting certification strongly preferred (RID, EIPA, BEI, etc.)
• Previous experience interpreting in K-12 settings preferred
• Background providing 1:1 student support is a plus
• Strong commitment to consistent attendance throughout the school year
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and organization skills
• Flexibility and dedication to the full-time, school-based schedule (8:00 AM 2:30 PM; no modified or flexed schedules can be accommodated)

• Deliver accurate sign language interpretation for one student throughout the school day
• Facilitate communication between student, teachers, and peers
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote student success and inclusion
• Maintain all necessary documentation and adhere to professional standards for educational interpreting
• Provide a positive, supportive presence in the school community
