Job Description:
SUMMARY: The Supply Technician is responsible for researching, initiating, and resolving supply discrepancies within the Supply Division. Resolves discrepancies which include shortages, overages, duplicate shipments, misdirected shipments, transportation discrepancies, receipt rejects, and misidentified equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs research using GCSS-ARMY and FEDLOG/WEBFLISS (CIF utilizes ISM).
- Contacts and coordinates with local and depot level Item Managers, and Installation customers to resolve receiving variances.
- Prepares various supply and transportation documentation.
- Tracking requisition statuses, conducting follow up actions, and receiving supplies.
- Inputs report information and make adjustments within GCSS-ARMY.
- Ensure that proper funding and shipping requirements are met on incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Conducts inventories and issues supplies.
- Works closely with Government Inspectors to resolve receipt discrepancies.
- Assign locations to materials until disposition instructions are received.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- This position supports the DOD on federal installation, and the candidate must be available to work at the assigned physical location during business hours.

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
Essential :
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Requires excellent working knowledge of Government supply management procedures.
- Must be tactful and cooperative in dealing with others and must be discreet in handling materials documentation.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Must have an overall knowledge of GCSS-ARMY.
- Must have experience requisitioning materials with a National Stock Number (NSN) through GCSS-ARMY.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Must have excellent computer skills. Accuracy and speed are essential.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Must obtain/maintain Forklift license.
- Must be able to work independently, and without close supervision.

SKILLS:
Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job in English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling material. Must have the ability to work indoors or outdoors in bad weather. Handle equipment/supplies weighing 30 pounds individually and occasionally items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone. Wearing safety equipment (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment is required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions.
