FMS Aerospace is currently seeking a full-time Logistician and Inventory Controller for our Huntsville office location. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with our current Procurement & Logistics team, utilizing our inventory system and help streamline efficiencies for this department. This position requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and well-versed in all aspects of inventory control. Another essential function for the successful candidate will provide support to the manufacturing team on ensuring the program deliverables are consistently met, as well as maintain adequate levels of stock to meet demands, while minimizing excess supply.
Responsibilities- Analyze and help maintain the organization's supply chain and the life cycle of assigned products and services from acquisition through distribution, delivery, and when necessary, discontinuation. Communicate with customers and support staff to understand customers’ needs and ensure those needs are met.
- Take direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of inventory management ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals for the various active programs
- Monitor and maintain current inventory levels, processes purchase orders as required
- Track all orders and investigate problems
- Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, purchases within our current database
- Ensure traceability and conformance is met on incoming inventory items
- Perform physical count of inventory, cycle counts, and transfers
- Reconcile actual stock counts to database-generated reports
- Coordinate availability and allocation of raw materials, supplies, and finished products
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to nurture positive relationships to ensure positive customer service
- Prepare reports and present project plans, progress, and results
- Oversee shipping and receiving functions on customer deliverables
- Utilize new inventory management system & help migrate from current inventory system (AIM, formerly known as Flowtrac)
- Implement plan, schedule, and compliance metrics for the manufacturing team
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, production time, and other areas lacking efficiency and recommend improvements
- Perform other inventory, logistical, and procurement-related duties, as required
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or related field with 1-3 years’ work experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work proficiently
- Familiar with AS-9100 quality compliance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel)
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Must be U.S. citizen
- Must currently possess or be able to receive Department of Defense Secret clearance
- Background in aviation airframe modifications and/or aerospace industry is strongly preferred
- Unanet experience is strongly preferred
- Inventory systems experience is strongly preferred
- DoD or Military experience is preferred
