Leidos' Open Air Sensor Division is seeking an Army Sensor Innovation Program Manager to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The Can The Science & Technology (S&T) program is a sensor development effort that requires a diverse engineering and rapid integration and prototyping team to properly execute. The PM will be responsible for meeting the mission commitments to the customer and the financial commitments to the Division.
Key responsibilities include leading the program team, leading growth opportunities and developing proposals, supporting contract actions, monitoring and controlling program finance, managing cost & schedule, identifying and mitigating risk and opportunities, ensuring timely completion of program deliverables, and delivering overall excellent program performance. The selected candidate will serve as the primary programmatic customer interface for the program and will have P&L responsibility, briefing division and business area leadership on program performance.
The position requires strong communication skills, ability to lead cross-functional teams, and demonstrated experience exhibiting good judgement. Some travel for meetings and test events will be required.

Primary Responsibilities- Serve as a customer / client advocate with client management of expectations and results.
- Provide technical oversight of our advance technology development programs.
- Lead project teams throughout the product delivery life cycle of the program, both hardware and software development, to support the client with critical missions.
- Provide strategic thought leadership regarding technical management, software / hardware delivery, system solutioning, and client management for multiple development projects.
- Assist senior leaders to define strategies and success for all aspects of contract management, financial performance, and budget control of existing programs.
- Provide oversight and review and debriefing executive leadership with financial estimates and ROMs for new development efforts.
- Maintain responsibility for the leadership and development of Department members of program execution professionals.
- BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of experience in the defense/aerospace industry or 6+ with MS degree.
- 4+ years of experience managing technical programs that involve development and production in the defense industry or similar rigor.
- Must be a proven leader with good organizational skills, attention to detail, and work well as a leading member of a team.
- Experience measuring scope, schedule, and cost performance. Strong understanding of program planning and implementation of Earned Value techniques and tools.
- Experience successfully leading cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment to meet quality, schedule and cost commitments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer interaction and presentation skills.
- Must be a US citizen possess and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
- Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL, area.
- Preference shown to candidates who possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of: AS9100 quality systems and compliance, Navigating DoD acquisition processes and methods, Risk identification, analysis, and management techniques, Understanding of systems engineering principles, design and manufacturing processes, and quality systems, Subcontract management includes creating SOW, and managing technical, schedule and budget for both large and small subcontractors, Proposal management includes identifying key partners, developing statements of work for subcontracts, planning and writing proposal responses.
