Infusion Registered Nurse; PRN Weekends

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a Registered Nurse for supervision and administration of infusion therapy on a PRN basis in the clinic located Huntsville, AL.

Schedule: PRN (weekends)

• Place Peripheral Lines (peripherally inserted central catheter) lines for new patients, teach infusion patients how to self‑administer medications, and document in the Medical Record
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, passing information to physicians and/or patients as needed
• E‑prescribe prescriptions at doctor's order and communicate to pharmacies
• Receive and return patient and other telephone calls
• Review EMR charts for next day’s appointments, ordering lab results, consult reports or notes as necessary, and document all required fields to be eligible for meaningful use
• Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office, and schedule patients to come to the office as needed
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested
• Use clinical judgement in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs and establish priorities
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment
• Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the facility
• Support professional practice by observing the following: use knowledge and practices in accordance with
  1) Standards of Nursing Practice;
  2) JCAHO, state and local laws;
  3) MIDC policy
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current AL RN license
• At least two years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion‑related practice
• Infusion experience
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID‑19)
