Position: BHCC NURSING - LPN Inpatient

Legacy Behavioral Health is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work in our Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) in Valdosta, Georgia. The licensed practice nurse (LPN) is responsible for rendering nursing care in assigned areas in terms of individualized client needs, according to dependent and independent nursing functions and conformance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction and delegation of the registered nurse.

The LPN will demonstrate basic nursing techniques and procedures following the established medical protocol, work with medical staff, pharmacy, nursing, and other clinical staff to ensure the highest coordination of services, assess consumers for mental health needs, fulfill all charting requirements, and complete complex computer‑based documentation. The LPN must learn and provide nursing services in accordance with various policies, including State of Georgia, CARF, etc.,

communicate information in a clear, concise manner, and elicit consumer participation in discussion.

Qualifications
  • Must have a current Georgia LPN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in psychiatric nursing (preferred).
  • Must be CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification and be physically able to perform CPR.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, and critical thinking.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulation.
Working Conditions

Employees in this position may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from persons served or the working environment. Incumbents may be required to work extended periods of time at computer terminals. They may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric and/or deceased patients.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The position requires intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting and supporting patients.
