RN Staff - Labor & Delivery 3rd Shift

Overview

Labor & Delivery at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is proud to serve as the leading labor and delivery center in Alabama and a regional referral hub for North Alabama and southern Tennessee. The unit features 20 labor rooms, 3 dedicated OR suites, and a newly renovated PACU, along with an 11‑bed high‑risk antepartum unit and the state’s first obstetric emergency department.

• Care for pregnant patients during labor, deliveries, and postpartum care.
• Assist with obstetrical emergencies and other obstetric conditions.
• Serve as circulating or scrub nurse during cesarean sections.
• Provide comprehensive patient support, critical nursing care, and pregnancy and postpartum education.
• Assess patient needs, plan and delegate care, and evaluate outcomes during shifts.

• Graduate of a state board‑approved School of Nursing with an active Alabama or multi‑state license.
• Experience preferred; new graduates are acceptable.
• BLS certification required before completion of orientation.
