Psychiatric Care & Support, Mental Health Nurse
Unity Psychiatric Care is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, compassionate care to adults receiving acute inpatient psychiatric treatment. As a key member of our Healthcare & Medical Services team, you will play a central role in helping patients stabilize, build coping skills, and move toward mental well-being in a safe and therapeutic environment.
In this role, you will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, monitor mental and physical status, and actively participate in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans. You will administer medications and treatments as ordered, closely observe patient responses, and conduct ongoing suicide risk, safety, and behavioral assessments. Using evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices, you will employ de‑escalation and crisis intervention techniques to manage behavioral emergencies while promoting dignity, respect, and patient autonomy.
Collaboration is essential at Unity Psychiatric Care. You will work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care, participate in treatment team meetings, and contribute your nursing perspective to clinical decision‑making. You will provide clear, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic health record, ensuring continuity of care across shifts and disciplines.
Education and support are important aspects of this position. You will help patients and families understand mental health conditions, medications, and coping strategies, and you will support discharge planning by reinforcing follow‑up care and community resources. Throughout all interactions, you are expected to uphold a patient‑centered, trauma‑informed approach that honors individual experiences and promotes recovery.
Unity Psychiatric Care values compassionate, respectful care and a culture that supports both patients and staff. As a Registered Nurse here, you will join a supportive team that is committed to professional growth, ongoing learning, and high standards of psychiatric practice. This position is ideal for nurses who are passionate about mental health, excel in fast‑paced environments, and are motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing acute psychiatric crises.
