Mother/Baby RN – Huntsville Hospital

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit invites experienced registered nurses to join our 38‑bed Mother/Baby unit. The role focuses on delivering family‑centered care for postpartum mothers and newborns, supporting skin‑to‑skin bonding, breastfeeding, rooming‑in, and designated quiet hours.

• Assess, educate, and care for postpartum mothers and newborns throughout assigned shifts.
• Promote skin‑to‑skin bonding and breastfeeding, providing lactation support when needed.
• Prioritize patient care based on individualized assessments and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
• Facilitate rooming‑in and maintain safe, quiet environments for families.
• Participate in ongoing education and training related to maternal/newborn care and breastfeeding.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current Alabama or multi‑state licensure.
• Experience: Preferred but not required; new graduates accepted.
• Skills/Abilities: BLS and NRP certification required within six months of hire.
